Built by radiologistsfor the reading room.
RAIN was founded by physicians with appointments at the University of Pennsylvania. We are starting where longitudinal reasoning matters most, neuroradiology follow-up, and expanding once value is shown.
Depth first. Then breadth.
RAIN is in development. The plan below lists the order of work. Timelines depend on validation results.
Neuroradiology MVP
Building and validating the core pipeline on brain MRI and CT follow-up: tumors, metastases, post-treatment change, meningiomas, white matter lesions and aneurysms. Includes Prior Assembly, Finding Graph, Temporal Engine, Evidence View and Comparison Draft, evaluated against radiologist review of source reports.
Neuroradiology early access
Use of the neuroradiology module at early access institutions under investigational terms, inside each institution's environment. Focus on reading-room usability, local PACS and reporting integration, audit logging and the Follow-up Tracker.
Additional subspecialties
Extension to chest, body, breast, cardiovascular and musculoskeletal imaging, each with its own finding types and temporal rules.
API and platform
Programmatic access to the longitudinal finding record, so institutions and other clinical applications can build on RAIN's cited finding histories.
Shape RAIN with us.
We are looking for a small number of radiology departments as design partners. Together we can test whether longitudinal reasoning reduces missed interval change and redundant imaging, and makes complex follow-up cases faster to read, evaluated against expert-defined reference standards.
- What partners get
- Early access to the neuroradiology MVP as it develops
- A direct role in shaping workflows, outputs and priorities
- Close collaboration with a radiologist-led founding team
- What we ask
- Radiologist time for structured feedback on real follow-up workflows
- A shared commitment to careful evaluation against clear reference standards
Radiologists, engineers, operators.
The team combines clinical, engineering and business experience.
Hossein Nejadnik, MD, PhD
Neuroradiologist and Assistant Professor of Neuroradiology at Penn. His research covers advanced MRI, molecular imaging and AI in radiology. He leads RAIN's clinical vision.
Shahriar Faghani, MD
Physician and AI engineer with experience at Mayo Clinic and Penn. He leads the engineering of RAIN's longitudinal reasoning pipeline and its source-grounded architecture.
Jonatan Zandberg, PhD
Business lead with Wharton training. He guides RAIN's strategy, health system partnerships and the path from neuroradiology validation to platform adoption.
