FAQ

Questions from radiology, informatics and security teams.

Is RAIN FDA-cleared?

No. RAIN is an investigational product in development. It is not FDA-cleared and is not intended for clinical diagnostic use. This site will state its regulatory status as it changes.

Does RAIN read images or reports?

The first release reasons over the text of prior radiology reports and uses study metadata such as date, modality and protocol to build the timeline. It does not detect or measure findings on images. Every measurement shown comes from a prior report and is cited.

Does RAIN replace the radiologist?

No. RAIN prepares the history. The radiologist interprets the current study, reviews every proposed statement against its source, and decides what appears in the signed report.

Where does patient data go?

RAIN is designed to be deployed inside the health system's environment or a private tenant the institution controls, processing only the data needed for the summary, with encryption, role-based access and audit logging. Data flows will be documented and reviewed with each institution's security team before any deployment.

How does RAIN handle errors and hallucination risk?

RAIN is designed so every clinically meaningful statement is tied to a verbatim source sentence that opens in one click. Findings RAIN cannot classify with confidence are marked uncertain, statements without a source are labeled unsourced, and radiologist review before signing is required by design.

Which subspecialties are supported?

Neuroradiology is the first module in development, covering brain MRI and CT follow-up. Chest, body, breast, cardiovascular and musculoskeletal imaging are planned for later phases.

How can our institution get early access?

Use the contact form to request a walkthrough or join the early access program. Early access starts with the neuroradiology module, under investigational terms, and includes integration and security review with your team.

We are opening the neuroradiology module to a small number of institutions. Tell us about your practice and we will set up a walkthrough with our clinical and technical team.
